Imperial Golf Course
Imperial Golf Estates is located off of Tamiami Trail North (U.S. 41) just over one mile north of Immokalee Road in the power city of Naples, Florida. Imperial Golf Estates consists of approximately six hundred homes spread throughout an astonishing seven hundred acres of land. The land that Imperial Golf Estates rests upon has been part of an ever-growing community that was first established in 1968 with the help of Lloyd Sheehan, a developer of the times, and assisting him, the Collier family and other sellers. The county it resides in was named after this family for the work they put into it, including expanding US 41 to Dade County, to make it as wonderful as it is today. The Collier family is also responsible for the creation of Grey Oak’s and Estuary at Grey Oaks. After four long years of clearing the lands, zoning the area, and placing the first buildings, Imperial Golf Estates opened in 1972. With an added bonus, a freshly designed eighteen hole “East Course” golf course by Arthur Hills opened up just one year afterwords and was deemed to be a private golf club of three hundred and twenty-five members. In 1974, the ten thousand square foot clubhouse had completed its construction phase and was able to cater to one hundred and twenty guests as they overlooked the well-manicured greens from the second floor.

With all the successes the course and housing attracted, the Founders held a meeting to discuss the addition of a second eighteen hole golf course. Five years after the opening of the East Course, the West Course debuted in 1978 under the same conditions as the first, that it be private as well and added an additional two hundred and fifty memberships. With all these new players flocking to the course, the Founders also set to expand the clubhouse an extra seven thousand square feet and offer additional amenities.
Today, with the completion of all construction in 2013, Imperial Golf Estates showcases many building styles including carriage homes, coach homes, villas, condominiums, and single-family homes within thirteen well-maintained sub-divisions.
